Opportunities of Jobs in Aurora

Aurora, Illinois is a smaller city located in Kane County, about an hour southwest of Chicago. It boasts around 160,000 residents and is known for being an affordable place to live. The city features two school districts, East Aurora and West Aurora, and both offer a proper learning environment for children. West Aurora is home to many summer events, such as outdoor concerts. Throughout the city, a variety of eateries and general and ethnic grocery stores can be found. Now for the big question: What are the most plentiful Aurora jobs?

The largest percentage of jobs fall into three broad categories: Management, Sales, and General Professional. Of these, the most popular specific positions are those in the healthcare, manufacturing or education fields. There are many prominent employers in the area. Rush-Copley Medical Center employs a few thousand people, as does Caterpillar, Inc, manufacturers of earth-moving equipment. The City of Aurora itself, along with the varying school districts, also employs a large amount of people. Provena Medical Center and Dreyer Medical Clinic offer less positions than does Rush-Copley, but both places are still good options for people with medical degrees. Waubonsee Community College would be somewhere people with higher education teaching or administration experience would do well to apply. Those who love sales and marketing jobs but want more excitement might thrive working for the Hollywood Casino-Aurora, which employs at least one thousand people. Finally, those who have experience working outdoors and with people could find work through the Fox Valley Parks District, another of one of the largest employers of Aurora jobs. In general, if you are someone with a Bachelor's Degree and experience in office management, sales, nursing or teaching, Aurora might be a good place for you to look for work.

But what amount of compensation do
aurora jobs provide? Of course, wages depend on education and experience in the field. Public school teachers just beginning their careers can expect to earn from $30,000-40,000. With several years' experience, the annual wage will rise to between $50,000-65,000 per year. Lawyers can expect to make $60,000 just to start. After ten or so years, a lawyer could be earning $80,000-100,000 in Aurora. Nurses will make around $42,000 to start, and that wage can grow into around $60,000 or more.

Supervisors and managers of firefighters or police officers can rake in $70,000 to $130,000. However, interestingly enough, firefighters themselves can only expect to bring home $23,000 to $55,000, depending on rank. Police officers start out making around $28,000, but can more quickly move up into earning $60,000 or so a year. Sales representatives for specific companies or products can earn from $45,000 per year and upward, which is much more than someone working as a retail salesperson in a chain store; such jobs do not pay much anywhere in the country.

As the information conveyed here shows, with the right experience and degree, it would be easy to live a decent life in Aurora. Like anything, it's a good idea to talk to people who already live somewhere before relocating, or even go visit the area. In any case, there are many opportunities for jobs in Aurora.
